I've done this for other people free, and...well, the CTM would be the hardest to lose, because it is surgically attached to your spinal chord.
Basically, if you don't enjoy the thought of being sliced open and having a weird piece of technology sutured to your spinal chord, I'd recommend the choker.

Depends on your definition of "bad things", I suppose. However, you'll be pleased to know that I've performed this same surgery on Ehks, and look at him now!!

Well, back when he was biotic, I gave him one, and it worked very well for him.
Actually, I ended up giving him a new skeleton once as well...maybe that's why he got assimilated...eh, small potatoes.
