There are multiple shop.item15.names. He hands you one, which promptly becomes a jacobdagun.inventory.item.name
The "OUT OF ORDER" sign, upon closer inspection, is actually not part of the pile but is actually affixed to the door behind it which presumably leads to the washrooms or a closet or something.
The eye stares at you and its pupil dilates when it's given to you.

The horn... is gone? Shopkeep seems none-too-pleased by this situation and looks around frantically for it. On a particularily dusty section of floor, a large pawprint is on the ground in the direction of the door.
The boots are boots. On their soles, some kind of complicated spell pattern is etched in. There's a bit of text that explains they can be used to travel exactly half-way to where you want to go, but never farther away or closer to.

Shopkeep says you just pronounced it fine between the words "pronounce" and "anyway" so he has no clue why you suddenly think it's called "deg deg", though he likes that and says it's a far better name anyway.
