well most of what i have is stuff i need.

one without a hat.
that'd be a BORING wizard.

BUT I can do some cool things I'm not exactly sure yours can do, since it's not based on the primal system.
ooh~! i wanna see! *jumps a bit, his hat sliding down in front of his eyes*
Sure... I'll start with Red/White, or Damage/Construct, since that's already active...
*a faded red octogram appears in midair, generating a purely white sword with the symbol as a hilt; transparent red shards also form and begin floating in the air*
Each combination generates two effects that can be used independently of each other- in this case, blade constructs and floating Ether shards. The base spells can also be used without being combined, but they're usually not as versatile or strong. In total, there's...
*counts in his head for a moment*
...I think about 15?... No, wait... 25.
Right.. so what can i do today without horribly failing?
*sits down*

hmm... it'd be very complicated, and it might not be as fancy, but you can create something like that. my wand foci work a bit like it too i think. i can use it to channel the four elements, but i can add nearly any of the 56 aspects to it to change how it acts or behaves. it will mostly either not work or have a very small and nearly useless change to it. though some times it works quite well.
for example, potentia, and Ignis makes an explosive fireball like projectile. whie raw Ignis makes a weak fan of flames shoot out the staff.

you could at least see.
i don't need to see. i'm an avali, i use my ears... though the back of the hat makes positioning the ears a bit odd. i might need to cut in it a bit.

it only understands a select few commands, it's... cognitive powers can be "upgraded" or changed if you give it a specified seal. as this guy is right now, he can only carry, pick up and move stuff. and when he's this size he's not of much use. i suppose you could place him under an apple tree and place a basket he could fill with apples as they fall. though of course you can have mech-sized Golems that can move far bigger things, like massive stone bricks or large logs or large chunks of raw ore.
with the seals you can specialize them to do many other things, from fighting to farming to simple alchemy. though you can't get them sentient, nor have i heard of them being able to speak or write.
ooh~! i wanna see! *jumps a bit, his hat sliding down in front of his eyes*
What's the bell for?
the bell commands it. like...
*puts down his knapsack and pulls out a orange-red crystal which he lobs a few feet away, he then clangs the bell above the Golem and then above knapsack, then the Golem moves over and picks up the shard, then returns and puts it in the knapsack*
they can move pretty far. they're not the fastest though, and they aren't the best at maneuvering difficult terrain.

Well, what I have are five basic elements, some of which stemmed from the Monado's Arts. There's Heal, Damage, Counter, Construct, and Remove-slash-Destruct. Some of the combinations are what you'd expect, but some are completely unexpected, like the result of combining Construct and Destruct. All three are based off manipulating reality to small degrees, which I can do actively given time and focus.
Oh my god, I just realized we're such nerds... Talking about magic and how it works. Couldn't possibly get nerdier.
Well.. a "magic show".
Might as well watch that..
I can't.. i can't fail at watching things.. can i?

Nah. Not any more than most do.

Well.. thats.. good to know..
I doubt i'll learn anything, but it will be fun to watch.

The Primal System is, again, similar. it has Fire which is Ignis, Aer is air, Aqua is water, Terra is ground/earth, Ordo is order/stability/continuity/control etc., Perditio which is Entropy/destruction/loss/random. the last two are kind the odd ones out, as they aren't really a physical aspect, but they are more used to specify and modify things.
Well.. this is a lot better than anything else i've ever done.
*begins playing with a bottle*

How'd you make the golem?
it's a pretty complicated process. simplified, you get the material you want a golem out of, supply the material with an Animation Core, and then you infuse it with a few different aspects, like Victus, Motus, Cognitio, instrumentum, among others. then you get a dumb fella like this one.
*motions to the small clay golem*
you can then make items for it to wield and use, as well as the seal you sort of incorporate into the animation core to alter the way they behave.
Hello i am here now ready to do things.
// okay I'm writing down all of Umbra's spell combinations, some of which I honestly haven't thought of yet...
...Know what, I'm going to go toy with the "magic" device of mine some more.
*heads off for a bit*
*walks into the general vicinity, still in a bathrobe from yesterday*
So, I come back from a nap and an attempted doctor's visit, and you people are making Golems now?
*pauses, then retrieves a weird device from the lab. He types in a message onto a virtual keyboard.*
I just got back, and we've got Golems now?
