unless you're not stupid and have swordpeople at the ready
Charging a testudo head on is never a good idea. Those are ROMAN shields, so some of the best soldiers of the ancient world are carrying them, and if it's a Triarii they'll have spears poking out too, otherwise you'll slam into a metal reinforced block of wood and then the guy behind it will move it aside and stab you with his sword. What you want to do is use the slow speed of the testudo and it's exposed sides to outmaneuver it.
Which is easy to do on horseback.
And, considering how some ancient archers were, that's...frightening. Mongols and all.
Mongols are scary motherfuckers.

Ah yes mounted skirmishers. Well I don't know what the historical contingency for them is but personally I like to chase them away from the main line with Equites
That or I throw a fuckton of javelins at them.
Also worth noting in Total War that Rome preserves local military traditions through auxiliary units, so while they have no mounted or even particularly good skirmishers themselves they can employ conquered camel archers, horse skirmishers, Germanic scout riders, Tarantine cavalry (I've hired those guys as mercenaries before, they are amazing horsemen), Cantabrian cavalry, Numidian cavalry, Parthian, Scythian, and Sarmatian horse archers, armored horse archers(!), and/or Thracian cavalry, depending on how much of the world they control.
Edit: they also have onagers that launch beehives at people.

It's Noah. You should expect this from him.
Edit: had to see for myself. No inflation per se but looooots of latex, mild to moderate hyper, a fair amount of diapers, and some goo. 9/10 lots of WTF even on SFW but not totally intolerable to look through if you have the tolerance for furry bullshit.
Going to sleep now...
Finally finished 98% of my article after 10 hours of non-stop procrastination and distractions, good job me. Now seeing how its almost 4:20 in the morning, I'm going to go eat some frozen pie.

The assignment I keep procrastinating on was extended once, and in a very unexpected turn of events the course convenor for the entire subject change and the new person not only extended the deadline again but made the last part of the assignment entirely optional.
I'm not sure if it's dumb luck or I'm just being taunted like "you got a week and a half extra and you're still going to pull an all-nighter on the last day"

I just noticed but does BL:TPS have slower progression? You only have $100k and 10k health but you're a level higher than me.
I can't remember if this was explicitly stated or not but I think the progression was normalised a bit (like less exponential more linear in terms of stats and raw numbers)

Huh.
Well isn't that boring.
Also I made the most OP Commando build ever.

I think it was to stop the issue where at higher levels even being a one or two levels underlevelled made the game very difficult just because the stats in gear jumped so much.
