Because choosing one exclusively over another isn't a show of preference.

The few that have stopped reading, have done so because it's just not worth their time, and they have better things to do.

It's not like it'd mandatory to post internet findings to prove you're active in thread, people consume whatever site or function they feel like.

If you stopped posting screenshots from games you're playing, sure, it'd lessen the content contributed, but you'd most likely have the same presence, unless you actually decide to spend time directing that to reddit, or some other place.

Long story short, I know exactly what happened, and how it devolved.
1. In the Skype chat, Jer was around and peopel started talking about the commission thing. Someone brought up Marx being in it, and how it made them uncomfortable with his size. A decent amount of people in the group did, in fact, agree that it made them uncomfortable or, in some cases, felt worse than uncomfortable. Most of the concern, however, was "What if Felis doesn't want to draw Marx because of this?" The initial discussion was not born out of ill will, but rather making sure Marx wold be in the picture no matter what.
2. After that, 'Tuni went to talk to Marx about it. Miscommunications occurred, and 'Tuni forgot to mention the concern about if the artist would draw it or not. This lead to Marx thinking people wanted him completely out of the picture (And that was thankfully cleared up through more talking), and lead to him wanting to know those of which had these concerns (As Tuni said "people are getting disgusted"; that number, compared to people who were mildly uncomfortable/were concerned for him being in the picture, is low. Tuni said over ten expressing how many people had concerns in general.)
3. Marx then brought this to the thread, and here we are now, in a dramastorm.

That is what I have gotten from this, this is what I have seen regarding it. No one bullied Marx about it. No one insulted him, or derided him, o anything. Most of the "disgusted" people were moreso concerned that Felis wouldn't draw him, and, just to be safe, wanted him to alter the weight so he would be guaranteed in. I'll be looking over the topic in a bit.

I just decide to check in after looking for jobs and whatnot and see an arguement.

You guys really have nothing better to do than bicker, do you?

The reason why most of said 'Skype squad' shows up is because when it's said to us that crap's going down, we all see that and come to check usually.

On a day to day basis it's no different from here at all. Just a more IMS style thing than a forum.




And please don't call people out like so. I didn't see Rukii being a full jerk, just a bit of a butt to Marx. While it's still not that nice, it's not oh my god you're horrible either. So really, you're all (mostly) overreacting over something stupid.

Those are my .02 cents.

I'd use it if it didn't..well, lets just say I prefer IRCs.
Too bad the Nexus IRC is dead.

Regardless of the tendency of these situations to end up as "nuh-uh we're better than that nonsense you guys do" the community is divided. We do not have the crowd of members backing us to support a fully open forum with dozens of threads, but you guys are adamant that it'll be fine with half of us using the forums and half using Skype. Never mind there are people who refuse to associate themselves with the forum because of the community but will gladly hang out in the Skype group. "It's not us vs them" indeed.

No community will survive divided like this.

More like "The little time they have in between studies and all things real life are not only meant for reading a forum, or typing out a post with how their day went down, instead they just want so say good morning and having a small chat before starting the day or going to bed".

And it's not separate in the way that you think of it.
The skype convo is as open as it gets and anyone gets in, if they want to be there.

When it's actual posts, that need to be, and be read, of course it'll be posted here.
