you guys know that to get the megashark you have to kill the destroyer right? well anyways i know how to make the destroyer easier.

I have adamantite armor, Frostbrand, the Dao of Pow, and an Ice Sickle.
Hoping the Sickle will be able to take down the destroyer. Not sure what I can do about the other two bosses though...

Yeah, Nimbus Rod, Orichalcum armor and a Phasesaber. The Gatligator and exploding bullets isn't bad, either.

nimbus rod is important for my strategy, swords are mostly useless though, ranged weapon needed.

The main problem people had with bringing things from non-server worlds wasn't that they're bringing foreign items, it's that sometimes people would bring something they -shouldn't-, as in an item far ahead of the progression of the server.

There's no real way to police or protect against that, either. Hell, there's no real 'answer' to the problem of people's progression.

The way Ehks' group will do it is playing only when all of them can. That enforces that they progress with whatever characters they use there.

A constantly run server has the issue that it has the potential to be pushed ahead by those who have the chance to play more often. I can only recommend to give peeps enough time to do so by scheduling when things will be progressed, probably weekly. One week = Hardmode. One more week = Plantera. Next week after = Golem, Boss Waves, Fishron, ect ect ect. Rinse and repeat after a bit to keep things from getting stale.

That'd mean that someone would need to admin the server in such a way, and a dedicated server is all but required for that. Does keep things generally organized, though.

But I will push one thing: If someone wants the world in Hardmode, make sure everyone who plays on said server KNOWS it's gonna go into Hardmode and when you're gonna do it. That happened when I played with Marx and Rune pushed for Hardmode, and everything progressed too far for me to bother wanting to continue. It's a server, people. Put what you want aside so it's fair for everyone else.




And I do agree with kC: You don't need to hoard things. Yes, you might be planning on using, say, diamonds to make a Diamond Staff eventually (even if the world has Gold you can still use the Extractionators to farm Platinum ore).

But if you get something and don't need it? Set it to the side for those who WOULD use it. Unique boss items would have to be discussed on who gets those first (ala Skeletron) and even then it's easy to summon him for the things.

Yeah, I was kidding with the first two lines.
Phasesaber is actually rather effective due to autoswing, and the Oricalchum armor spawns piercing flower petals to attack it when you get damaged.
I'd reccomend trying to get a cross necklace/star veil and a philosopher's stone as well.

Cross Necklace is awesome. But not as good as Star Veil.
Also, if you don't have a Frozen Shell yet, I recommend getting one. It raises your defense by 25 when you're below 25% health, which is awesome.
