on a completely unrelated note, I'm playing xenonauts, and after losing 4 men because apparently opening a door and firing several point blank plasma shots into a prepped and ready squad doesn't trigger ANY reaction shots. twice. I've decided to remove a lot of the human element from my team and nobody is allowed to deploy on mission without a hunter scout car, and when on deployment the SOP is to get the fuck out of the scout car's way and wait for it to report the UFO's position.

because armored cars with single .50 HMGs apparently laugh at plasma fire and reptilians that could rip a human in half with their bare hands. I think we actually decapitated one of the buggers a few weeks back.

I'm starting to wonder just how many friends ill lose to depression before I can figure out how to fight it...

Reaction shots occurs only you have enough TU left on the enemy turn, the more TU left the more snapshots or reaction fire you can get off to, most reaction shots are just snap level shot so it wont cost much but very inaccurate, also I recommend the armored warfare mod on the workshop, it gives vehicles their much needed buff.

You can burst fire with the assault rifle, heavy troops actually will do better late game.

This is why my team is mainly shotgunner and snipermen, remember to give the guy named Willy a shotgun,
and two well placed assault rifle.shot should kill, even serbilian, but andron need 3-4 on the ballistic rifle.

You can see a '+30' on a wounded serbilian at the end of each turn when you still have sights on them, also very important, serbilian have poorer eyesight so you can spot them and they might have not notice you yet, and smoke dont work on them.
