No starsector I gave the Sunder a siege laser so it could kill other destroyers, not to use on fighters.
So I've been working on a game all day, and all of a sudden my PC crashes and the files got corrupted.

As if I wasn't feeling bad enough already.. Alpha I could use your Greninja pic finding skillz plz

MRW my salvage teams restore functionality to a vessel even though I saw it literally vaporize itself when it's excalibur core melted down.

See if they can salvage the ammo you shot into it, save on ammo costs

Well I'm beginning to question if anything the Templars use has ammo restraints, at this point missiles made of pure energy and hate wouldn't surprise me.

Maybe I'm thinking of someone else but don't you do computer work of some description?

I'm studying software engineering. Still gotta do assignments and shiz though.

Why do you have to write long drawn out essays/papers/whatevers for SOFTWARE ENGINEERING?!
My god the school systems everywhere are ridiculous, even in the Land of Poison and Spiders.

Physics is no better.

"For this test you cannot use a textbook, so you better have it all memorised by rote"

Listen... you know those famous scientists they always interview,in their nice plush study, with mahogany furniture, their PhD and Noble prizes on the wall, you know what else those rooms are lined with? - BOOKS, walls and walls of BOOKS. Because in real life science, "you are not allowed to use a textbook" is something nobody has said ever, those famous scientists they don't have all those books memorised either, they refer to them. If you're unsure, you double check it. Teaching potential scientists to "not check their references, just memorise it all and get it close enough", is exactly what you SHOULDN'T do.

+sigh
Yeesh, it's things like this that make my faith in humanity such low values. :/
Heck, exams; that's another thing. In real life you have more than 3 hours to work through pieces of reading and answer questions about them, 2 response paragraphs, and 2 300+ word, well thought out essays.
Oh wait, in real life you don't have to overanalyze peoples' writing unless you're a book critic or some nonsense anyway.
Ech.
Okay I'm going to stop talking about school now. It's giving me a headache.

Enter the world of project management. It's a magical land filled with nothing but documentation. Not really essays though just, stuff that needs to get done.

Track Decision, Project Vision, Project Development Plan, Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, Risk Register, Change Request Form, Configuration Management Procedures, Quality Audit Logs, Test Case Transmittal Reports, Sprint Reviews, Weekly timesheets and status reports...

The list goes on.
Starsector is tough as nails, holy crap.

Any tips, Surge?

For Vanilla? Get a Wolf and a Cerberus, Wolf is the best ship available early on and one of the best frigates period, and the Cerberus is a sturdy freighter that can hold it's own, then hang out at Barad in the Corvus system. Jangala offers the biggest bounties and offers them fairly often, if not the Asharu will offer one. You'll want to target smugglers, they have lots of cargo and not a lot of firepower, watch for smuggler destroyers too, they're usually drug runners, which is incredibly lucrative.
