You don't listen to much rock do you?

There are lots of bands that have mixed orchestral elements, sometimes regularly and sometimes occasionally, or simply formed a sort of rock and roll orchestra on their own through volume of instruments and players. Try the Steve Miller Band.

you need to listen to more music. i didn't even have to search hard to find a good example outside homestuck, and i know there are many bands which specialize in doing exactly that kind of stuff
