Could do with a few more parts for me to play with but for now here's a scaled down F-23 Raven, I can't actually make it fly because I have no practical means of shifting weight away from the engines though.

Simpleplanes is like Kerbal in that there's a very practical element to creating a functionality, but it also has relatively in-depth but easy to manage tools to create form as well.

I can get it flying as a regular jet but for some reason the design seems to violently disagree with VTOL engines in that once it's off the ground regardless of thrust vector it starts back-flipping.

I'm enjoying myself for now. Though I feel somewhat inadequate that I have difficulty making a plane fly at all and some guy made a plane that folds in on itself like freakin origami on the runway then flies flawlessly.

You see, my ancestors come from the Irish royal family of the same name, which is linked at some point in the distant past but nobody really knows when exactly.

What I do know is that I'm descended from the last high kings of Ireland before the British took over. It was nearly a thousand years ago, and while I am firstborn my father was a second son- so I would not be in line for ascension anyway if the throne still did exist.

But its fun to think about anyway, what would happen if I were to go to Ireland and a certain ancient artifact recognized the lineage of the kings that it once granted authority to. I would certainly have a lot of enemies in a hurry is what.

fine, I find that you tend to be more of an absentee in the community than anything, rarely contribute except in the most "matter of fact" way possible, and generally go about your mod duties in the same way an apathetic teacher would deal with children. Which leads to a reputation for being very aggressively boring and "professional" in your interactions with the community rather than just being another member of the community, in fact I get the impression that if you didn't have any obligations to moderate the forum you would simply not use it, and generally makes you feel like an otherwise uninvolved third party with largely arbitrary power over people whom you clearly care little for.
I don't expect anybody to support me on this position as I tend to pay unnecessarily close attention to people and their behavior and I have noticed both that some people simply forget to do what is technically the "best" thing to do and that can never quite be free from my paranoia.

Hmm. I will concede I have been relatively absent here. I would largely attribute this to the fact that most of the people I interacted with in this group have largely moved away from the forums and by extension so has a lot of my activity. Furthermore, I feel historically that people have been largely uninterested in the kinds of content I am typically able to contribute and I'm in the same boat in many regards (for instance I cannot really discuss the RP, DiRT, XCOM, Mechwarrior or anything of the sort because I have no experience with these things meaning I can largely only make superficial observations. I posit the same would happen in reverse if I were to post something WRT, say, CS:GO).

The reality is this is such a small group and so quiet that "mod duties" are all but non-existent. The reason you don't see me doing a lot in that regard is that there is not all that much to do - particularly so since a lot of the drama that occurs typically happens during the period where I'm asleep so it's usually dealt with by Ehks first.

Nevertheless I prefer a reasonably 'hands-off' approach with moderating, again due largely in part to the size of the community. Things are fairly tight knit so acting heavy-handedly with bans and such I feel would only lead to resentment and sow the seeds for more issues down the line. Like you mentioned earlier, we're (mostly) adults here and should be capable of talking things out. I feel a lot of the time this has worked favourably, without the need for actual mod intervention with only a warning sufficient to stifle any inflammatory behaviour.

A reputation for being boring and professional? I have not heard of such a thing - most people seem to find me a fun, enjoyable and personable individual to be around and I'm sure several here would back me up on that. Interestingly you also seem to have a rather deep-seeded fear of me 'acting out of line', banning or punishing you for posting things that I would potentially disagree with - I find this a bit confusing as this seems directly at odds with the 'professional' view you claim to hold of me.

I'll end with this. If anyone else feels like I'm doing an inadequate job or that someone else would be more fit for the position, please speak up and make your opinion known. I suppose ultimately it's not my decision but I would step down from the position without a fuss if a majority of people held that view of me.
