It's fairly common iirc for newly discovered organisms and fossils to be named in some way that ties them back to the scientist who discovered them or, less commonly, to some other import figure. Case in point for that last bit, there is a species of cave beetle named after Hitler.

I believe Coro was referring to how they call it a Dragon, which he hates because its wings are on its arms and not its back...
Now that I think of it, Coro must hate Komodo Dragons.
