So apparently warhammer dwarves are ridiculously petty and spiteful. They all have a "book of grudges" where they record every wrong carried out against them until they can exact revenge and cross it out.

Other M makes it a plot point that Samus's suit disappears when she goes unconscious some time into the game.
Metriod Fusion, the game it's supposed to be tying Super Metriod with, makes it a plot point that her suit is locked onto her body on when she goes unconscious before the game even starts.
Gotta love retcons.
I heard retcons. Am I late?
(09-04-2015, 07:20 PM)L3W Wrote: [ -> ]Did anyone ever wonder why they haven't made another main Metroid game? It's because they are still salty from the backlash Metroid Other M got and now the spin-off Metroid Fed Force is getting (even before it is even released). They could do another Prime game, but why would they? They really need to do something new, different, and awesome. This is why many game series like Metroid are becoming stale because they are just a copy/paste job with no new creativity whatsoever imo.
I think the reason they haven't is because making a game takes time.
I wasn't enamored with Other M's gameplay, or the old 2d Metroids for that matter. The Prime series has always been the pinnacle of Metroid for me (Mainly 1 and 2... Ohgod that wiimote no!) and honestly I wish they'd continue with that style of game, if not still in the Prime series.
Long sidenote on whole Ridley Scene debate:
If you understand the canon it's trying to show, Other M isn't bad. In Super Metroid, (and this has been confirmed), Ridley dies for real. Yes there had been multiple fights before there, but the implication is that Ridley actually survived each time using either mechanical or biological upgrades/regeneration to heal its remains. She saw Ridley be completely destroyed. NOPE! Suddenly he appears, once again, like a recurring nightmare that won't go away. Imagine a person killed your parents and pretty much everyone else you knew as a kid. You find and shoot them multiple times, but you never see them clearly take their last breath. Then the last time you fight them you throw them down into a pit of acid and watch them break apart into their base elements. They are dead. And then a year later you see what appears to be exactly the same person on the street. Yeah, serious panic would probably ensue.
Samus also reacts pretty badly in other games. Fusion doesn't count because it's not actually Ridley, just an imitation, but in many games where her reaction is shown upon seeing Ridley, from the little you can see (her eyes) it's pure horror. She basically goes berserk at the sight of him, too. In Prime 3, upon seeing him, she doesn't try to move out of the way when he charges her, she just shoots repeatedly at him and lets herself be knocked into a pit that, had she not been rescued, would probably have killed her.
But whatever. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, and this is a debate I'm sure will go on for freaking ever.

So I got Homeworld Remastered some time ago. It's fun.
I got one gripe. I like the idea of "carrier only" matches. Without the mothership, things start out slower.
But the game doesn't tell you that it doesn't just disable the mothership, it disables all capital ships. Even the Homeworld 2's shipyards that are your only chance at producing more carriers. With the Vaygr, you're fucked, because unlike the Hiigaran, Vaygr only get one production module slot on their carriers. You want to fight a combined arms attack? You'll be spending time and money swapping modules constantly. Meanwhile, the Hiigaran laugh at your puny carrier from the safety of their 3 production modules, which, because we count out capitals, means they can produce any ship they have. I like that it slows down the game (HW2 motherships can start producing capitals minutes in, due to the availability of the capital module from the start. seriously, what the fuck), but not that I can't eventually finish off my opponent by warping Battleships to the front lines.
Also HW1 races are somewhat overpowered compared to the HW2 races, since they only require research, don't use modules, and don't split up their firepower of smaller ships into even smaller clusters of ships. At least (to my knowledge), the mothership is the only way for them to make carriers.

I never bought homeworld remastered but I'm really disappointed that gearbox used the IP for a safe and easy "remastered" release that could be more easily accomplished by releasing the code needed for the fans to do it themselves (like OpenRCT) instead of actually trying to give us a properly updated experience in a whole new homeworld title.

i wanted to watch you, but i do not know how.
I had my good day ruined by a very close friend now calling me a disgusting asshole, and not wanting anything to do with me.
I am inordinately proud of how well I am controlling these cars with only minimal driving assists.

Well, you do get the original two games anyways, and they did do some work, but that's to be expected when the RM engine is entirely new. But hey, they did integrate modding for all 3 games. (I say 3 because the Remasters and the Multiplayer all run through a single client that just selectively loads data.)
Also, what the hell happened to Homeworld Shipbreakers?

Unfortunately the engine is "new" in the same way that OpenRCT2's engine is. It's a new shell for the same old code that makes it look a bit better and is generally more agreeable with newer OSs. Now that may be underselling it a bit, as their rehash engine is based on HW2 and they ported the original 2 into it against all odds. I can't blame them for not wanting to rebuild the game from the ground up but still...I expected more effort from a studio like gearbox.

You play Tactics? What's your favorite Job?
i will continue to be hype for XBX especially since someone did a legitimate, nonspoilery review of it
hearing the exploration, combat, sidequests, etc all improved at the cost of complexity of the main story is fine by me. XBX wasn't going to be just like XBC and the fact it differs in narrative style is fine with me, even if it's "weaker".
And I will continue to be hype for total war warhammer, or as I'm calling it GRYPHON CAVALRY SIMULATOR 2K16.
Okay I give the demigryphs a lot of credit for being terrifyingly amazing but simply put between the giant spiders, demigryphs, steam powered tanks, and magical lasers, DIS GON B SO GUD.
