Not anymore. I've managed to mostly un-fuck the computer. Now I'm doing some finishing maintenance.

So apparently Terraria can't keep the inventories straight, because I lost everything I had stored in the piggy bank, without a crash.
It was all overwritten by useless items I had moved out of it before.
I lost money, tons of ammo, and several weapons I worked hard for.
