I've gone mad, the head keeps get into me dealing like 50+ damage constantly because the invincibility period in expert is shorter than normal(?) even in the best pre-hardmode armor(molten) killing me in seconds even at 400hp

I was able to kill him with the Bee Gun without any buffs or an arena.
Seriously. The Bee Gun makes everything before the WoFfle easy.
Queen Bee is a pushover, too.

I always make mine before fighting Skeletron. There's usually a bunch of hives down there, so you'll have several chances at the gun before you have to start crafting consumables.
