I absolutely adore being able to blast orion pirates into little space bits.

I always sing, "I got a thing!" whenever I get an item in the Zelda series, but in this case it's more like I got a th- boom!
God damnit. Playing Red Dragon with a friend, I had to spend the whole match doing all the heavy lifting and yelling about "MY AIRSPACE"

I did enjoy "suuuuurge they're violating your airspace!" "WHERE!? I'M ABOUT TO SLAP A BITCH" though.
Opinions on the PCGMR
jese, what's with the influx of new members again, are they bots? are they previous regulars? I dont know but I'm getting stingy, both venomous stinger and the FiM-92 stinger.

I don't know but we don't need to get hostile...
Yet.

I hate the smilies, they've caused me to accidentally piss off Marx, seriously, who designed these!

Again revealing my amazing skill at fucking everything up

after watching Space Battleship Yamato 2199: Odyssey of the Celestial Ark, having the bridge outside and on top isnt all bad, in case the ship is too badly damaged it can detach and fly away assuming no one shoots it first.

Okay so the new Starbound stable is very fun. I'm loving all the new content and stuff (except some of the crafting changes I don't like, for example you now need to use iron armor to make steel armor again. Yay. And I don't think any kind of steel is made from iron and copper...)
And the Erchius Horror is still my most hated boss... This game is not cut out for fast-paced platforming, and redoing that mission is a pain in the arse...

I guess this is going to be a mod? It looks amazing! I love scripted sequences and Fallout New Vegas doesn't have enough of them...
Of course it's almost certainly going to be a buggy mess as well.

The only issue I see with the SB Yamato is that the only defense it has on the bottom on the ship is a painted floating line to disuade enemies from getting under it.
No cannons on the ship's belly, none. xD

I found an interesting alternative with bridge allocation, when thinking on how to design my own ship, the CX9... it has two bridges: A fake one on the top only used by the main gunners to aim the railguns, and the real one on the bottom, with the engines. The whole ship acts as armor/protection for the bridge and engines, whenever the front of the ship becomes unusuable, the back of the ship detaches, turns around and uses all the main thrust of the ship to fly away, leaving the front (which is just weaponry, ammo storages and cargo bay)

Considering that it keeps all the main engines to thrust away, but leaves most of its mass behind, the escape will be really quick.
I've tried this design in some games, and it's really effective. No control over the maneouvering is lost while facing the enemies, and the escapes usually work after detaching the front.

Also... did you know there's an action movie of Battleship Yamato?

Underside weaponry on starships is always difficult, it forces either a lot of agility (hard to get out of a million ton warship) or a mirrored 2D design. Of course you have to account for that mirror, starships generally don't want wild cross sections due to collision risks, and then ammo magazines and loading mechanisms cause a space issue with any small cross section. For example although my Typhoon-class is very large most of that space is plating, and it's guns have very large and rugged mechanisms, making a weapon mirror impossible, so it simply has to have disproportionate ability to move itself in 3D. On the other side the Dragon-class is much narrower and shorter but it arranges it's guns into clustered batteries that share a magazine and a few loading parts, as well as using much more modern and compact autoloaders in the first place, while it still can't manage a full mirror configuration it's underside is able to boast roughly 50% of the dorsal guns, enough to present a token threat until the ship rolls to reengage. You could of course always experiment with a shared autoloader for two guns, but that would negatively impact fire rate when used together and the loss of redundancy plus added complexity is a mighty dangerous combo on a warship.

yeah, the life action movie....
*shivers*
let's say it's....sub par, good movie by itself but stains the Space Battleship Yamato story line, it didnt even follow the original 1970s anime.
on the other hand, the 2012 remake/reboot is awesome
Okay, why the fuck is my avatar gone?

I've fixed it now but seriously, why?
