By practicing and getting better at it. Also, what do you suggest should be the reward for the contest? Remember we're a small self-driven community, we're not going to be giving away money anytime soon... a name colour is at the top of my head one of the few barely meaningful things that can actually be given. Besides, these "contests" have been so far made with the purpose of adding something to the forum for everyone, namely the banner at the top of the site, and a couple emoticons. More than a "reward" for winning, it's more of a "thank you" token, really...

Bleh, back to college again....for another 4 months and this time I didnt fill my slots full.....I wish I could just take one semester off/not picking up any subjects.

Anyway I have the test build of the modpack ready for some of you guys who wantto test it out(or fry your pc) I do need some feedback, just follow the google doc thing found on Jim's signature.

Also the recent google chrome mobile update, they finally bloody fixed the keyboard issue.

I wasn't suggesting money, but I believe a color change is simple enough to ask for. I mean banners and emoticons are ok rewards for contests. Also it doesn't matter if I get better at making art if someone who has been doing it for a while ends up winning anyways... I think that there should be other contests maybe like a 500 word story contest etc. 

Like Cala said, the contests so far have been art, because they were for art assets on the website - the :awaggle: emote was the winner of the previous contst, and the Avali Nexus logo up top was the winner of the first contest. First, second, and third place people all get name colors, and first place gets it implemented.
If there was only a "it gets put in" reward, no one would enter. It's not enough incentive to make something. A custom name color is, however, and it will remain something as a contest reward. And unless there's some sort of way I can make a story-writing contest benefit the website in some capacity...it's going to stay art assets.
unless of course someone can program/make a theme or something possibly. If we ever do switch forum software, then I would certainly hold something like that because i am a terrible website designer i mean just LOOK at this place

You just need to be good at pixel art, at least for emotes.
And judging by your mod, I think you got that part mostly covered.

We are still updating the suggestions by the way. I'd say we try installing RotaryCraft+ReactorCraft just to see how they work. If the performance is too bad with them, we'll leave them out.

Also, Austin and Shaadris still need to submit their whitelist requests.

I also forgot to add open blocks to the modpack, we need that grave inventory keep thing because /gamerule keepinventory will be set false.

Anyway I'm going to set up my laptop on campus, lets test this modpack out, for now we have to go without those mods until I can get home and add them to the list.

This is a post that isn't about minecraft.
