Being serious, though, is there anything you could tell me about it? I was reading a bit of it, and I have nothing to do, so I figured I might as well try my hand at RPing, but I dont know how I would start. I figured I would wait until the current scenario was finished, but I dont even know if that's possible.

Freeform RP is a dangerously open and addictive realm. On one hand there are no real rules and anything will fly so long as you keep it within what the group will define as reasonable, which is of course a bit precarious, as it both implies and means that there are no concrete rules, but you can still break the rules. I think RPing is best treated like acting, except there's no script for any of the characters, you have to ad lib everything, which brings me to the biggest mistake a lot of people make, you have to keep track of your character, where he is, who is he, what can he do, all that stuff, it's fine to make up your lines and actions on the fly but making up your character on the fly is mega-not-cool. For example people will be very angry with you if, say, in the middle of a fight you suddenly decide your character carries a really big fucking sword, as that's not something that could have simply gone unmentioned up to that point, you get a lot more leeway with regards to adding to and removing from your character on the fly when you deal is stuff that isn't visibly apparent like skills. Personally I like to avoid crossovers with existing canons, say, starwars or warcraft, when creating a character but we tend to put up with a lot of shit over on the RP thread, the only way you could really royally fuck up would be if you constantly picked fights with people (characters are people too, they're not all psychopaths and most really won't like you if you are) or had a grossly/blatantly overpowered character. Of course overpowered characters can sometimes be a grey area but this isn't the best time for that rant, suffice to say that as long as you keep the orbital lasers and personal armies to a minimum you won't have too many problems.
For world details and rules you'd have to talk to Umbra, and you probably shouldn't plan too much about your character until you have that info.
Also so I discover that my recording software was registering my laptop's microphone instead of my headset mic, and when I corrected that there was a massive improvement in my latest recording. It's a big longer, so it's still rendering.

Alright then, I guess I'll have to talk to Umbra about that. Either way, I know shit about sci-fi TV shows and all that, and when it comes to making up random shit, I cant stand that. I normally take up to 2-3 hours just to make up the skeleton of a character. And trust me when I say this, I hate overpowered things. Mind you, that can be subjective, but when it comes to having a definition of OP, I would describe my understanding of the matter as being able to do anything and everything with no cost and guarunteed success. I prefer a balanced set of skills for my characters.

It can get insane. Think twice about it before you really decide if you're up for whatever happens.
...I'm not serious, but I'm not joking, either.

You're not far off... I think.
This coming from the person who decided to take up landscape world building for the thing.
So I watched the pilot of Mr. Robot today... Or at least the first 30 minutes of it. The other two people in the room collectively decided that we all didn't like it and turned it off, despite me being actually quite interested. The only thing I didn't like was the (due to its proximity to the point we turned it off, I don't know just how much there was) nudity, and how the main character describes everything about every character the moment you meet them (asides from the initial encounter, which was much better done, due to the revealing of facts during dialogue), making there be essentially no cerebral part of the show.

A settlement on the edge of a forest in what appears to be a mostly uninhabited planet.
Being a semiserious RP, it largely operates in status quo mode- stuff happens, people do things, but within a day or two it has gone back to status quo with people wandering around town talking and having fun together.
Right now its in one of its more serious notes because a character got killed, and the player of that character is not happy because his character is dead in a way that he cannot be brought back.
Most of the characters favor technology over magic, but both are allowed within reason. Please don't let loose any plagues/wildfires/act of god disasters, they will be reverted within a few days because that kind of thing annoys everyone who just wants to relax and have fun in a casual setting.
There are a few rules established though, mostly related to what happens if someone gets killed and a few specific settings that are roped off as do not enter unless the people managing those parts of the setting are available to operate those areas.
As far as getting killed goes, on death your character will drop a crystal of sorts. That crystal can be recovered and brought back to town. If enough people liked the person who died, they can show support for the character in question. Each supporting person makes the crystal become milky white and eventually glowing white, showing that the dead person has enough friends in town to permit their resurrection.
On the other hand if a crystal is not recovered and activated right away, it gradually blackens, ultimately cracking and crumbling to dust. Once a crystal has cracked, revival of that character is no longer possible. Which is the source of some friction right now, but it was intentionally written that way so that the players in the RP would have a means to vote off characters that cause too many problems or do not fit the nature of the RP. It also allows for the person controlling a character to quickly remove themselves- simply show that the crystal has blackened and cracked, making it unrecoverable.
When a community unites against you, it's time to go...

Interesting. I was never really into ''magic'', but I guess I'll need to do some reading up on such things. And I am well aware of the current issue on the thread. I honestly find it quite entertaining. Regardless of what I find entertaining, I'll probably keep watching in silence until I get a feeling for the lore.

Marx, two people is not a community.
There are about 115 people here and most of us are with you.

Great.

No, no lore. Or if there is lore, not everyone needs to know it by heart because that doesn't make lots of sense. (Though I do have an idea for the origin of the world, i.e. possible explaination for how Umbra was able to
make an entire world pop into existence. Assuming you haven't explained that already...)

No, he did more than that.
Anyways, my friends list is about to get a lot smaller.
You all say you care, but when i screw up, fall down, get lost... it gets rubbed in my face.
That's a HORRIBLE way to treat a friend.

I meant the story so far, the history, how things happened, you know, the backstory, the start. That kind of thing.

Okay, thank god.
And it was done by supercharging reality-altering gloves with a magical source of energy (supied by Gonz).
It ended with the current world and a massive headache.
