Care to elbor8?
The game is built on incomprehensibly elaborate and invisible RNG (45mm shots that deal no damage to critically wounded planes and .30 cal rounds that sever massive chunks of undamaged airframes are both as possible as any other outcome), progression is deliberately crippled and gets worse every few patches. tier balance borders on nonexistant, the third reich's desperate prototypes face record setting post war designs from their opponents, planes that outstripped all of their contemporaries when introduced actually face those contemporaries. Flight models are usually incorrect, most changes to them are not documented or changed according to what is documented. The list goes on.
If you only play once a week you won't get any login bonuses, which are a variety of temporary XP boosters of random values.

Welp.
Guess I'm just gonna play me some Fallout NV since I got all the DLC...
Edit: Eh, might as well test out WT.

It wants 1-2GB patches. Fairly regularly.
I've played it on and off for quite a while now, but got completely stuck progress-wise when the updates revised how the planes were rated and what rank of opponents you faced. It ended up with my favorite craft taking a fairly massive nerf to the point of being only barely usable.
Also Russian craft have a very prominent developer bias. It wasn't bad enough that they had to make the Russian craft more powerful than their contemporaries, its that they had to make the Russian built craft SIGNIFICANTLY STRONGER than their same-tiered opponents to the point where you will be oneshotted if you aren't using a Russian craft.
I suppose since as I am writing this you just launched it on steam that its too late to warn you, but if I ever see you in a game be it tanks or planes I will give no quarter.
Time to fire up the Soviet biplanes I guess.

It's pretty fun, really.
I like how they even factor in angle of attack and such.
alright, WAT.
i just took down plantera easy with only a handful of buffs, a too-small arena, not even full 500 hp, not fully-optimal accessories and full Chlorophyte melee armor in expert mode.
Legendary seedler is officially OP as fucking shit.

plantera was actually kinda easy tbh. my group took it out on the first try.

And you can get one from fishing.
OWO

you won't need another melee until you get the terrablade, at which point it might still be a viable choice in some scenarios.

a group makes those sorts of things a lot easier, what gear did you guys have and how many were you?
Pretty much every post-Plantera weapon now deals 100+ damage.
Grenade Launchers and Proximity Mine Launchers are reliable now! Quite fun to use, too.
Also, I summoned the Frost Moon, but I fucked up while trying to catch a loose Martian Probe...
SO I NOW NEED TO FIGHT THE FROST MOON AND THE MARTIAN MADNESS AT THE SAME GODDAMN TIME.
FUCK MY LIFE.
Honestly, a lot of melee weapons are much better than the Seedler. A bit harder to get, but the Eye of Cthulhu yoyo deals
so much fucking damage.
Butcher's Chainsaw too.
Both of them are gotten from post-Plantera Eclipse, though.
Of course, you could always go for the Possessed Hatchet. Now that it's buffed, it's easily one of the best melee weapons.

And can I just hop on and off again every week or so without penalties or something?
I've had a lot of fun with it but I dunno how it is now since I haven't touched it recently.
The game itself is very fun, but can be a bit bullshit at time (like surge said about shots bouncing off etc.), though I don't have problems with that most of the time (wonky netcode or something maybe?). You can hop on and off every week with no kind of penalty so you're good in that way, you'll just progress slower (I mean there's a daily reward thing too which seems worth keeping up).
The game balance has gotten terrible though and it's progressively getting worse. There's a very clear bias towards russian stuff. It's not so terrible you can't just put up with it but you will notice it if you play for a while.
Progression is alright to start out but gets slow,
horrendously slow. Each nation has a 'tech tree' of sorts which you work up (one for planes and one for tanks if applicable). You start out with the most basic planes and tanks and you can select the next one on the tree to research. Each battle you will earn a number of research points which goes towards the vehicle you are researching. The number of research points needed to get even one high tier vehicle though is huge, not to mention you need to work through everything before it (vehicles are divided into 'tiers' and to research a vehicle in the next tier you need to have completed 6 vehicles in the previous tier. So to even start researching a tier V vehicle you need to have researched 6 tier IV vehicles).
Gaijin is getting more greedy lately with the F2P stuff, more focus on boosters and stuff. There is premium vehicles and stuff, but they are no more effective than the equivalent vehicles you earn through research for the most part, so it's not really P2W (no premium ammo or anything like WoT)

I'm about 90% sure the "rounds bouncing off armor" is a feature.
Especially since it covers it in the tank tutorial.

It's more like, rounds that shouldn't bounce but do anyway. I've played over 100 hours so I'm well aware of armour mechanics.

Eh, I'm used to games that gives "shit happens" as an excuse.
I don't really know why I built this, but I built it.
After going through the diabolical pain of fighting Santanks and Saucers at the same time, I decide to invest in a highest possible crit Sniper Rifle build.
I currently have 79% crit chance, dealing 750+ damage.
I think I found my new favourite weapon.
I have two cavities in teeth that already have fillings, two small cavities that, knowing my mouth, will be full-on cavities soon, and need to get all four wisdom teeth removed because the bottom two are
completely horizontal and the top two are diagonal.
And my medical coverage runs out in early November.

do you not brush your teeth or something? how can you have that many cavities
also good luck with wisdom teeth, i was stuck in bed for a week because
all four of mine were horizontal ("impacted")
