Elsword (Most fun I've ever had with this kind of game (sidescrolling beam 'em up)... But pay-content feels like it's shoved down your throat and character creation is nonexistant unless you count pay-only customization. Progression forces you to choose between two skills constantly (and permanently) without letting you test them out or even see how they work and with pretty vague descriptions and it only gets worse once you have to actually pick the next level of class)
Phantasy Star Online 2: (英語 で お願いします! The translation doesn't cover everything, the hacking-protection rootkit it installs in your computer crashes my laptop when I try to launch the game, I don't quite understand all the ins and outs of combat yet, mostly status effects and the like, but the character creation is brilliant even though you're limited to 2 characters, the class system is open ended and you can switch any time, the combat is amazing, it runs smooth all the time, and just overall this game is fantastic.)

Tried every one of those. Take a look at the PSO2 Tweaker, it works better that way. Also, check out HUNT and Sea of Thieves. Oh, and Skysaga looks good too. Think Minecraft, but online, and actually fun and interesting.

Trust me, TROVE is aimed at small children. There really isnt much variety in combat, either. SkySaga looks radically different than TROVE. Although when it finaly decides to come out of the closet, I'll definitely be geting HUNT. Looks amazing. Watch the trailer once you have a few minutes.

Can confirm.
It's a T6 exploration cruiser and disgusting amount of XP for a character of your choice.
The cruiser is a new skin for the T4 envoy class and has appropriate stats but if you already played the envoy it's not terribly exciting save for it's exclusive console, which is only 1 of a set of 3.
The XP is good for throwing off your gear scaling like a motherfucker, forcing you to fight level 60 enemies with your level 50 gear.

Ground combat indeed bites, but I like the space combat. Especially since I found out that right click sets weapons to autofire, vastly reducing the amount of finger destroying button mashing.

Yes, the combat engine is terrible. The ground one that is. The space combat is alright but nothing great.
What I think would benefit it (or maybe even a new Star Trek game) is a more-FPS-less-RPG style ground combat system and more of a Assassin's Creed: Black Flag style ship combat system (but with Phasers Banks instead of cannons) and also a completely open world like (haven't played this so correct me if I'm wrong) EVE instead of having it split off into warp-to-only systems, having warp be actual real time but really fast travel...

It is also pretty much what I believe Star Citizen will be.

i never said it was a good thing, i just said it is a thing, at least it isn't pay to get a content update.
and F2P games also become or are pay to progress game sometimes, and it's really annoying when it happens, but sometimes there are games that aren't like that.

i didn't have to drop any energy whatsoever to get any of my 5* gear, i just found the orbs. Plus, you can earn crowns to buy energy (Really wish the price would go down...I miss when 7k CR was equal to 100 energy.)

It actually already has an FPS mode on ground, I believe it's B or something that remaps fire to your mouse and gives you a reticle. You need to know all your ground hotkeys for it to not backfire on you though.
