i saw it, but frankly i couldn't care less, mostly because others have talked to the author about it.

Well on one hand at least a mod is being made that is at least very similar to the avali, on the other hand I'd be out for fucking blood if somebody published a Tecarian rip-off.

Woohoo. Tried updating graphics driver using AMD's autodetect utility and it made my computer blackscreen.
Luckily a manual shutdown didn't break anything. The driver just didn't install.
This seems to happen every time I try to update my graphics driver, whether it be via the official utility, the AMD website's manual downloads, or an external utility like DriverBooster.... Ugh.
Whatever. I pretty much give up here, besides, they're only a few months outdated atm (which I guess means one of the failed updates actually worked? Wish I could remember what I did that time...)

That said, it's very possible the coincidences are actually coincidences, and the mod's quality looks astounding.
I may have to try it out at some point. And by the looks of it, far more races are coming...
I wonder if their clothes are compatible with Avali sprites...

It almost certainly is. I'd suggest that he was inspired by the avali and simply failed hard at distancing his creation from them, but he clearly recycled a lot of resources from the avali mod.

He says he used the mod as art inspiration but did draw all resources himself.
And also the race is apparently from the RP forum he mentioned.
I haven't looked myself, but if they're old enough then it's possible that they weren't actually inspired by the Avali and that all of this is actually a (actually quite funny) coincidence.

I think it's easy enough to know if it's a trace job or a close inspiration simply by taking the graphical assets and overlaying them on top of each other, really. I don't really care much, anyway. The point where Starbound might be at a point where I'll play it again is still at least a year away, if not two, if it does ever get there.

Hrm. I'm trying to make something but all of my programming skills are rusty beyond belief.
I'd like some help if possible:
I'm trying to make a small UI with two textboxes. One for input, one for output. When text is entered in the first box and a button pressed, every letter/symbol in it is replaced by an [img ]link[ /img] tag depending on the letter.
I have Python installed and for some reason decided to use it, even though I've never coded a UI at all in Python before and maybe have a week or two of experience with it in total. My mind works in stupid ways sometimes. Of course I remember little of any other languages so I dunno if trying another would work out. Bleh.
I used to be good with this stuff.

They really buffed the spawn rate of these.
