Probably file-size limits. Download and storage servers are extremely expensive to keep running. And when your item is being downloaded a million times (estimate guess for example), maintenance becomes a required and more common thing. Jacking price up as much as 90% by forcing you to increase the number of paid workers for the services. So. Either you end up requiring hundreds (possibly of thousands) in $ gifts to pay for it to stay free. Or your service is kinda limited/garbage. Even those people gotta eat. Do realize only five people getting paid only 2K a month is already 10K. And that's pretty low end these days. Most groups have 25 minimum. So that's 50K in general staff without additional costs added in.

You know I still think a repulic commando style story or game following the escapades of TSOC squad 44 could work out well. The only problem would be the shift from combat heavy wartime sabotage to more stealth oriented peacetime espionage. Also any company with a marketing department that's heard of focus groups would say "Well that's fine and all but can you make the characters more....relatable?"

Well as much fun as an RC analogue with Tecarians would be non-human characters tend to be almost inherently less relatable. The task of making an audience care about a group of characters without any faces to show or lives to return to would depend entirely on their dialogue and body language. Restricting your character development like that for not only some, but effectively all of your characters does not bode well if you want people to care about them.
Additionally although RC pulled it off with the same restrictions pushing a game like that out with neither an established IP nor developer would be much harder.

i have an amazing little skeleton with a purple guitar, a tombstone it sits on, and a bandanna.
it sings, another one bites the dust, and shakes and moves it's hand as if it's playing the guitar, and at one point in time i'm pretty sure the voice cracks from going too high, and it's amazing.

I'm pretty sure you can do that on an actual bass, but not entirely into the animal cruelty thing
Now this conversation gave me an image in my head, might do an art with it for halloween assuming I'm not doing anything else for tumblr. Still doing some finishing touches with the current project though, might have it finish by tomorrow.
