You're holding two conflicting ideas here - you can't expect people to reason with you when you simultaneously disregard anything they say (or "don't put stock in it") as you term it.
Also what's there to reason about? You said something -> they disagreed with it -> they downvoted you. End of story. Not everything is some kind of long running blood-feud. To be frank, it seems kind of self important that you expect everyone who disagrees with you to personally indulge you if they want you to consider it anything more than some kind of personal attack.
It seems rather like you are disregarding the obvious evidence of prior events but I will give you the benefit of the doubt and fill you in, Cole has been making a sport of mocking me for a few months now, I won't have anything to do with somebody like that so I suppose he wouldn't have any luck trying to resolve anything with me because I frankly wouldn't mind if he died in a fire anymore, rukii on the other hand abruptly decided that me and my behavior are "problematic" and set along silently downvoting me, when confronted he claimed it was to "tell me what I need to stop doing" which still couldn't be less descriptive because he never confronted me about anything or made any real effort towards this goal of making me less of a problem user.
So as it turns out there's a good few past experiences that make this seem at least a little bit like a feud.

Little passive-aggressive jabs like that are practically inviting hatred onto yourself. It would be like making a post on reddit titled "I don't even know why I'm posting this since you're all going to downvote it anyway" and then complaining when people do exactly that.
The two of them still check the forums occasionally, they aren't seeking you out. If somebody calls you a twat, you're gonna say "no I'm not", not write a 1500 essay on why you aren't. Downvoting you in silence isn't a way of mocking you, it's just saying "I don't really care enough to voice my disagreeance except in this token way", in the same way that liking a post is a way of showing your agreeance in a token way.
So it's my fault that they couldn't be bothered to try and resolve any disagreement in a way that is constructive for both sides is what I'm getting from this.

You DID call them out.
And in the end? They don't have to do, or say, anything. It's their own choice whether or not they want to settle things, and they obviously don't.
As far as I could tell, it stayed that way with them leaving you alone until you specifically called them out. So you provoked a response. And you got one, albeit in the short-way they decided to do so.

It's the reputation you've built up for yourself, since you're usually the one who brings things up and you tend to have an 'unpopular opinion' about them.
The only way to get others to see you differently is to change that yourself.
Please, please stop arguing, we know that Surge, yes, can be stubborn, but Rukii had no grounds to go on, Cole is a dick for his own amusement.

That's fine, though again. You called them out, you got a response for it.
Now this little incident is over. Go back to talking about games and mechs or whatever specific things I lack the context for.

So you can just dislike something and move along on your merry way, knowing that at some point that person will see your little red mark against him/her without having any clue what your thoughts might have been... Rating systems are flawed imo.
I like reddit's system, it's anonymous.

Anyways let's just say I am automatically the worst person ever because everyone decided to rate bad reputation just because they felt like it? Without any explanation?
Whoa there mister crazy radical, some people just like to leave feedback without actually saying anything, it's kinda selfish to think everyone has to talk about everything you post

The whole thing about negative rep is... Well, you said it in your prior post. Shows opinion without needing words.
Otherwise rep or likes or whatever shows that someone, somewhere, took the time to notice something you did.
Like my art. I don't show it that often here because I don't get much feedback, in terms of an entire post or even a rep or whatever. I could care less about the rating itself, but getting one does show me that someone cared enough to do something about it.
I'm tired of this bullshit. I'm really fucking tired. Not a week goes by in this forum without Surge shoveling shit for what looks to be purely spite, and then he's somehow the victim. And now simply downvoting his posts to express an opinion without having to engage in a long-winded waste-of-time argument is apparently "wrong".
Surge, you never change. You have proven again and again that having any kind of argument with you is a waste of time, and effort, and the only thing it achieves is making people feel even more disgusted. Not to mention, those kind of argument always have turned this entire fucking thread into a revolting pile of rotting shit that is physically painful to look at. I have said it before, and while I can't speak for others I believe some share my view: I am tired of the drama, the toxic personalities, and all this bullshit. And through all this time, since I came across you in the Chucklefish forums, you haven't changed a single bit. You never listen. Your self-justifying me-against-the-world-against-me mentality is just fucking tiresome. And then there's wondering why people don't drop by here anymore.
I have given this place far too many second chances, but at this point in my life I'm too fucking tired to try and deal with this bullshit anymore. My career, university, my personal mental health, and my friends are far more worthy of my time and effort.
Oh my well that did come out of left field.

I mean seriously random topic threads can lead to nonsense sometimes. I mean we could be taking about how great apples are, but then someone could come along and rant about how terrible apples are because they found a worm in one. Then they would give negative rep to the people that like apples.

I'll be honest that sounds hilarious. When somebody gets spiteful for no reason like that there's nothing to do but laugh.
I have no idea what problems you guys have. I've had two or three debates with surge that ended up being somewhat productive.
