For humanoid characters, usually front and side view with consistent proportions and in a neutral pose.

that sounds like standard reference material for art in general. note that the big ref sheet is somewhat outdated in general...mostly the ear size.

If I ever did a cosplay I think I'd go as a stalker (like, from S.T.A.L.K.E.R) - mostly because I'm cheap and have most of the stuff I need already - webbing and DPU, a good hooded jacket in the right colour. Get one of those painter's mask from a hardware store and spraypaint it along with a headlamp and a toy/prop gun.

My mod setup, as far as I can tell, is completely borked. I crash like once every 10 minutes and a bunch of UI elements I have are conflicting with eachother...

On a semi-related note, does anyone know a good lore-friendly (or at least not lore-breaking) monster mod for Skyrim?
I used to have Skyrim Immersive Creatures, but it was causing severe crashing issues around Winterhold (my character, being a mage, has problems with this)
and I tried switching to Skyrim Monster Mod, but I've had issues with it too.
-Lore-Friendly version (w/ update) has some monsters completely invisible. Not good.
-Non-Lore-Friendly version (w/ Lore Friendly patch which is said to work with this version) works pretty good but at least one enemy type (Minotaurs) are partially invisible (specifically the head), have no animations, and can't attack.
Why are these kinds of mods in specifc so buggy?! Ech.
