Face it, Steam makes them more money than any one game ever will.

Shaddap and let me believe. And read. I do that sometimes.
Everytime someone proposes a "solution" to overpopulation, an angel loses its wings.

I was just expressing confusion, sheesh...

It's fine. I was just bored and wanted to post something random. I was thinking about whether or not I wanted to make a race mod Starbound and then I thought of Keatons for some reason.

Whats wrong with gas chambers and unit 731?

I want to make a mod with the precursors.

For a moment I thought I could try and concept something, then I remembered you need in-game assets, not sketches.

Haha, that's okay :p
I'd need to figure out how Starbound's mod file structure, code, and everything else worked first before even attempting to make a mod anyway.

Now that I think of it, have you ever tried pixel art?

Absolutely nothing, asides from the fact that it's very existence had violated the Geneva Conventions.
Also, obligatory 69 post. Yes, I know it's 369, but still. 69696969.

There are lots of good tutorials on playstarbound under the Mod Release & Modding Help forum to help you get started in making mods for Starbound. The only hard part is whether or not you take the time to actually do it.

Not entirely.

Beyond this sword icon, I haven't done much with it.

The style of that makes me think of Castlevania despite having never played a Castlevania game.

That's actually pretty good, compared to some other things I've seen, that look like they were made in MS Paint in about 5 minutes, with no effort whatsoever.

It looks cool imo. Now all you need is to code it by giving it a .sword file and maybe a .recipe file. Then put them in their respective folders and it will work in game.

That isn't a rapier. There is clearly a double-sided cutting edge, and as you can see, the handguard is in the style of a European longsword, making it much more likely to be a broadsword. I wouldn't want to stab with that! Throw you off balance. Also, the grip is far too long, being clearly designed for a person to wield it with two hands.

You wouldn't want to cut with it either. It's too thin and long.

Can we just agree that it looks awesome and who cares if it would be impractical?

Being thin counter-balances the normal weight of a sword (assuming it isnt some sort of space energy sword), and not only does the length grant an advantage to a short-medium range fighter, it has a larger surface area allowing for easier blocking. Furthermore, a longsword (or greatsword) was not designed to cut, but more to smash through, despite it having a cutting edge. On top of that, from what I understand, the knights of the Middle Ages used a combination of stiff and ''soft'' swings, allowing for surprising flexibility, as well as rarely swinging with one hand (such as on horseback).

No, I must argue my point to maintain superiority and show him who is the better person, obviously.

No. We need to educate ourselves on how the knights used broadswords, as well as the defining structural charateristics, because as everyone knows, that knowledge could very well save your life.

It's actually kind-of both.

The sword is called Sorrow (proverb for "piercing sorrow"), and it's based on the colichemarde, which is has a broad blade to a certain point before tapering off to a rapier tip.

I just streamlined the tapering, really.

Off the internet I have two replicas: a bastard sword/Hand-and-half sword, and a Japanese nodachi (and a decent replica at that).

I want a colichemarde but they're harder to find unless you order from the internet.

Nice. Also, I was not aware such a style of blade existed... Interesting. I dont have any swords yet, but I wouldn't mind a Zweihander. Dip that thing in oil and set it on fire... Fuck yes.
