I may not have the most life experience out of anyone here, but one thing I can tell you is that if all you do is listen to asshats like Sankoro, then you never will amount to much because you'll start to subconsciously be affected by it... or something. I just like talking about concepts that I'm interested in, even if nothing will ever come of them I enjoy talking my game concepts out with people to improve them, so I offhandedly mention them when they become relevant to try and get somebody to express interest and let me go on. Instead I invoked a circlejerk that is as old as this username (spoiler alert, that's very old in internet years, decently old in real years too).
