Just because everyone else has a sector-spanning-empire doesn't mean everyone needs to. Maybe the Avali are often picked on by the larger more organized groups because of their scattered nature? I dunno.

1. It was the reason why Galaxion was a clone (Remember that? Anyone?) and was the reasoning behind the existence of the GUARDIANs.

4. They were defined as one before. It was more sort of a loose definition of their claim to that area of space, though. Note that being separated into packs doesn't mean they can't have a global outset.

1. I don't remember that, and honestly since I didn't spend a lot of time there I probably missed a lot of your deep lore with the GUARDIANs and such.
2. I like the nomad idea. Besides, while supercomputers are great and all, the "send from anywhere, insta-calculate" thing is a tad OP. On that note, Sync Crystals are kind of very overpowered, even if they are in short supply.
3. Not exactly dies, just maybe doesn't have as many practical applications (after all, someone would have to manually build [or get an ai to do it] the VR locations and such, or use sensors to copy a real location, etc. and no doubt a lot of programming would be involved to make things work like they do in the real world.)
4. Hm, I dunno about global outset. My characters tended to avoid getting involved with factions, so I don't have much input here.

One last thing I want to do is make the war less of Black vs. White and more Grey- in general. Since the war just became a backdrop to most of you, I feel the whole "save the universe" needs to be replaced with a less fantasy, more personal dispute. It should be there and noticeable in the world around you, but should not be an endgame.

Which also lessens the need for both sides to have distinct equipment or tactics.

Besides, grey is far more interesting.

Have we completely dumped the idea of a complete reboot? I mean, if part of the reason we're going to be having the RP be on the CF forums is to get more people here, then why use old lore? Would it not be better to come up with a new universe for the occasion? I mean... The old universe did spring from a random nonsense RP. And a lot of us have gotten better at RPing and such and I know that at least personally I have sort of... Done what I wanted, in the current universe. Resetting everything, wiping the slate clean and from there make a world with rules and principals we all agree on I think is better than basing it on old ideas we've already played with.

A lot of the lore we wrote down was not made by shenanigans. They're isolated from them, even. We don't have to reset the ENTIRE universe, we just need to completely off the shenanigans.

Besides, grey is far more interesting.

Both sides deploying propaganda, lies, and false information.... The Alliance started getting grey anyways, but it was already impossible to do to the Republic.

As far as the "should we restart the RP" thing goes, it wouldn't be a bad idea. However, we have to keep the newer guys in mind.
I honestly wouldn't mind a reboot, as it would help me figure out Sirius a bit better. He was a rough idea when I dropped him in, so I think I could do better.

Say you're a newbie RPer with minimal experience coming on the forum to find an RP group. You see there are two most active RPs. One is an reboot of an older one with a lot of predetermined lore and veterans who have spent over two years in this universe. And the other is a new RP, freshly booted, but also with a set of experienced RPers playing.
Personally I'd go for the new one. I've seen plently of new shy peoe getting scared away from our previous RP because they were afraid they would mess things up canon-wise. This would be a lot less of a problem if we reset everything.

And besides... What was left to do? I feel like I'm done with the old RP world. The very base lore and ideas feel stale. I don't think a reboot would help.

A reset would allow for a way different feel and tone, and maybe give that normally wouldn't be interested in the RP to jump on because a whole new context is more exciting.

Say you're a newbie RPer with minimal experience coming on the forum to find an RP group. You see there are two most active RPs. One is an reboot of an older one with a lot of predetermined lore and veterans who have spent over two years in this universe. And the other is a new RP, freshly booted, but also with a set of experienced RPers playing.

I do want the lore to start out simple. These guys are doing this, belive in this, and have these relations. The deeper lore should only be for those who want more information, and should not be required reading.

That's the ideal way to go, honestly. Have information on the races, of course, but universal lore doesn't need to be as deep.
Setting/universe would share similarities...but not be exactly the same. It'd be different, to be sure.

Okay, about the RP reboot, in my opinion it partially works in my opinion especially in retelling early accounts(like how Null met most of the others amd how it only mentioned its false name only once), it could patch things from the back.
