The fact this forum is relatively small is what drew me here in the first place, and it's why I'm still here. Because even if you're in a different time zone, with a community this small everyone begins to know everyone even if by accident. So the time zones issue becomes less of a problem even if it's still noticable.

The real question is, why are you smelling ants?

because I've killed so much the scent of their corpses permeates the room

rather annoying when I've grabbed Civ V there's only the god and kings DCl and after the currency change/malaysian banks disallow debit card online purchases the Brave new world DLC came out and i still havent gotten that yet.

And you sure that the ants are giving off flammable substance fumes?

and then I did smell the ants just to confirm whether the smell is from them which in deed it is.
Maybe the ants got sprayed with poison.

The last ant poison I sprayed in my house had a lemon fresh scent. Which was really really nice.

honestly I dont really know where the ants came from, it's just appeared on my desk and I make a makeshift steam roller plowing them through. Done really have the time to hunt down the nest then apply ant poison, I dont really seen ant poison spray on our market just powder/chalk, so far it's mosquito and roaches.
I suppose the reason I managed to get out of my rut in the RP is because I started planning all this stuff to drag people around with. I'd like to say that once I get things rolling the RP will be way more interesting but I can't guarantee that by any stretch of the imagination, and depending on how umbra's plot plays through I may need to cook up a whole new world and adventure so that it can be fresh and distinct.

I guess I can't really blame people for getting disinterested, it has kinda meandered around for a couple months and is only now starting to find a semblance of direction.

...
I am not putting that on my youtube watch history.
So I've been playing Dawn of War. The Tau soulstorm campaign is... interesting? The game seems to heavily underestimate just how strong my units are, but then again they did warn that autoresolve is purely based on the "strength" of the defenders and attackers, which doesn't even work because the attacker starts with none of the strong armies the stat makes it sound like they have, only honor guards, so they just toss anything around 5 another base. I finished a single round with pretty much my starting units, destroying both bases before they could start the first upgrades, building a single stealth suit to defend the base while the team steamrolls the Orks, and one power generator to finish up the last reinforcements.

Also, I surrounded the Orks, and completely cut off one of their external provinces. Somehow, that province is still rising in strength.

For the Greater Good?
I used to love fire warrior firing lines in FoK

I just like the Tau in general. Their tech looks cool, apparently are the only ones still progressing in technology, aren't hideously xenophobic, have a diverse selection of units (tabletop and game) that don't need to rely on each other but can deal some serious damage if they do, and weren't wiped out purely because of the most suspicious warp storm ever. I mean, sure, "Greater Good" sounds pretty ominous once you think about all the other times it's been used in real life and literature, and apparently might be involved in brainwashing new alien arrivals, but hey, Xenotech's awesome.

I prefer the mean and green factions the IG and Orks. Orks are fun for zerging but IG firing lines are 10/10 if you can involve vehicles.

I want to like the IG, but they just require too much micromanagement to keep alive, let alone optimal. I actually did the IG first for the campaign, and took up most of my time slogging through battle with the Sisters in the first two rounds (and then my game crashed when I figured out how wargear was actually equipped before I could even save but that's not important).

IG in vanilla does have a micro problem but imo FoK fixes that by bloating squad sizes and removing the ability to reinforce in combat and automating a retreat function. Most mods also allow the IG to lean much more heavily on vehicles and infantry based heavy weapons

...What is FoK?

EDIT: Whelp, I found it. That's an instant download.

Firestorm over Kaurava is a closer to codex mod, if you want most of the same content without the balance issues of direct TT copy-paste Ultimate Apocalypse is awesome too but has its own balance issues (especially with tyranids)
